Digital Adoption Resource System An informational initiative now in development
A National Adoption Information Initiative

Organizing adoption information where no single starting point exists.

DARS Index is being developed as a centralized adoption resource system for individuals, families, professionals, providers, advocates, and organizations seeking adoption-related information, services, and support.

The issue is not a lack of information. The issue is fragmentation.

Adoption-related information exists across many separate places: state agencies, courts, attorneys, nonprofit organizations, agencies, registries, support groups, and government programs.

Purpose

DARS Index was created to help solve a structural information problem.

Even a simple adoption-related question can lead to an overwhelming search through fragmented resources, agencies, records, support groups, legal systems, and public programs. DARS Index is being built to create a more organized and accessible path into that information.

The current landscape

Adoption information is spread across thousands of independent sources. The public often has to determine which organization, agency, professional, court, registry, or state program may apply before they even know where to begin.

The DARS response

DARS Index is intended to become a centralized resource framework that helps organize adoption-related information by topic, state, service type, and user need.

Our goal is straightforward but significant: to create a single destination where anyone affected by adoption can find the information, support, and connections they need. DARS Index is informational at this stage. The broader platform will continue to expand through professional input, organizational participation, and future development.
