DARS Index is being developed as a centralized adoption resource system for individuals, families, professionals, providers, advocates, and organizations seeking adoption-related information, services, and support.
Adoption-related information exists across many separate places: state agencies, courts, attorneys, nonprofit organizations, agencies, registries, support groups, and government programs.
Even a simple adoption-related question can lead to an overwhelming search through fragmented resources, agencies, records, support groups, legal systems, and public programs. DARS Index is being built to create a more organized and accessible path into that information.
Adoption information is spread across thousands of independent sources. The public often has to determine which organization, agency, professional, court, registry, or state program may apply before they even know where to begin.
DARS Index is intended to become a centralized resource framework that helps organize adoption-related information by topic, state, service type, and user need.
DARS Index is being designed to support a broad range of adoption-related topics and resource categories as the initiative grows.
Information and resources connected to private domestic adoption processes and support services.
State-level and organizational resources for families exploring foster care adoption.
Resources related to identity, records, search, reunion, counseling, and advocacy.
Support information for birth parents seeking guidance, services, or post-adoption resources.
Information related to reunion services, registries, records, and support organizations.
Resources for families, providers, and advocates involved in special needs adoption support.
Connections to support services, advocacy groups, nonprofit programs, and educational resources.
Public and nonprofit resources organized to help users find relevant programs more efficiently.
The first version of DARS Index is intentionally static and informational. Its purpose is to introduce the initiative, support outreach, and provide a credible starting point for conversations with professionals and organizations in the adoption community.
